The EUDI Wallet Sandbox is the central test environment for companies and public authorities to prepare secure integration into the national EUDI Wallet ecosystem.
The EUDI Wallet LinkedIn channel provides technical insights and updates on milestones of the project.
In addition to the digital identification function (PID), so‑called Electronic Attestations of Attributes (EAAs) can now also be tested and further developed. These digital credentials, such as professional qualifications, academic degrees, or a driving license, can be stored and shared by users in their EUDI Wallet.
Innovative ideas around the development of the EUDI Wallet! Everyone was able to participate in the hackathon, regardless of their industry. The winners will be invited to present their results at the EUDI Wallet Community Event EUDI ON 2026.
The EUDI Wallet community event EUDI ON 2026 brought together key stakeholders of the wallet ecosystem in Berlin and online. The focus was on exchanging insights on current use cases and progress within the sandbox.
With the EUDI Wallet, citizens will be able to use important digital credentials securely, conveniently, and in a data-minimizing way, without paper documents, right from their smartphone. Whether it's a driver's license, a diploma, or a gym membership card: verified digital credentials simplify many everyday situations and can be shared selectively.
Whether opening a bank account or signing a contract, identification processes for using digital services are often complex, time-consuming, and prone to media disruptions. At the same time, key identity documents are still tied to physical cards. With the digital ID in the EUDI Wallet, this will soon be a thing of the past.
On the 17th of April 2026, the EUDI Wallet team answered questions from the Reddit community for the first time. In an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) session in the subreddit r/de interested users were able to engage directly with the project team.
