Storing and sharing papers on your phone The EUDI Wallet will also store digital copies of other papers. They are called EAAs. EAA stands for Electronic Attestation of Attributes. EAAs can be used instead of papers like driving licenses or certificates. They will be safe in the EUDI Wallet. Users will choose what to share and with whom. Users will not need plastic cards or paper anymore. They will have their papers with them on their phones.

Signing papers on your phone The EUDI Wallet will let people sign papers on their phones. To do this, they will need something called QES. QES stands for Qualified Electronic Signature. It will work just like signing on paper. With it, users will sign papers quickly and easily. They will not need to print anything out. They will not need to go anywhere. It will work everywhere in Europe.

Logging in safely to online services The EUDI Wallet will let people log in to websites and online services. Users can log in without giving their real name if they want. Users will only share the information that they need to share. Users will not have to tell the websites who they are. They will not need many different passwords. Different people and organizations are part of the EUDI Wallet system:

users Everybody in Europe will be invited to use the EUDI Wallet. Users will store their digital papers safely. Users will decide when and with whom to share information.

issuers Issuers are organizations that create digital papers. They confirm who you are. They also confirm facts about you like your age or address.

wallet providers The government came up with the EUDI Wallet app. But later companies can also make their own apps. The government will check if they are safe. If the apps are safe, the companies will become wallet providers.

relying parties relying parties are organizations who give you a service. They can ask to see your papers. For example: • a bank checks your papers when you open an account. • a government office checks your ID.

With the EUDI Wallet, they will ask for papers on your phone. Every relying party must be on a special list. In this list, every relying party must say which papers it needs. It must also say why it needs them.

organizer The organizer is called “Orchestrator”. The Orchestrator manages the whole system. The Orchestrator sets the rules and runs the management portal. The Orchestrator makes sure the system works well.

trust service providers Trust service providers will create online signatures and certificates. They will confirm that signatures and papers are real.

All these people and organizations have clear roles and clear tasks. Everyone knows what to do. This makes the system reliable and safe.
