Intermediaries support organizations entering the ecosystem
Interest in the EUDI Wallet is high, and many organizations are now beginning to explore how their processes and services can be integrated into the wallet. Service Providers can support this process by simplifying integration and enabling a faster start. Under certain conditions, they can take on the role of intermediaries. In this role, they act on behalf of organizations, process data, and are directly involved in wallet interactions.
The OOC #28 explored the tasks intermediaries take on and the requirements they must meet, particularly under eIDAS. Practical examples illustrated how this role can be implemented in different ways and when it is used in real scenarios. The aim was to provide a clear and accessible understanding of the topic, including for participants without a technical background.
Transparency and clear roles in the ecosystem
Another focus was transparency within the ecosystem. Looking ahead, tools such as the EUDI Hub and a marketplace are expected to help make roles and relationships visible and support organizations in navigating the ecosystem. The goal is to make it easier to identify suitable Service Providers and further simplify the onboarding process in the future.
A key takeaway from the session is that intermediaries are an important building block for scaling the EUDI Wallet ecosystem. They help reduce complexity and enable broader adoption. At the same time, it remains essential that organizations stay in control and that intermediaries act transparently. The session reflects the project’s commitment to explaining complex topics in a clear, accessible, and trustworthy way.
