OOC #26 – Experience Trust in the EUDI Wallet (Part 1): PID and Trust Relationships

OOC

With the 26th Open Online Consultation (OOC), we are launching a two‑part series focusing on one of the core building blocks of the EUDI Wallet ecosystem: digital credentials and trust relationships. The session focuses on the digital identity function (Person Identification Data, PID) as a practical example of how trust is established between issuers, wallets, and relying parties, and how secure data sharing works in practice. Perfect if you want a hands‑on understanding of how the EUDI Wallet ecosystem works — and what you need to know to issue digital credentials or consume them securely as a relying party. The session is intentionally designed for a broad audience. No in‑depth technical knowledge is required. The goal is to build a shared understanding of the key concepts and to foster exchange within the community.

Part 1 of a two‑part OOC series on trust in the EUDI Wallet ecosystem

Part 1 focuses on how trust is established within the EUDI Wallet ecosystem. Using the digital identity function (PID) as an example, the session explains how digital credentials - known as Electronic Attestations of Attributes (EAAs) - work, which actors are involved, and how data is securely presented and verified.

This session lays the foundation for OOC #27 (Part 2) on April 23rd, 2026, which will focus on the formats, types, and technical foundations of digital credentials.

The session will be held in English.
